AND THE NATURAL BIRTH MOVEMENT

    MY MISSION

“Let them discover

the kind of doctors their system will now produce. Let them discover, in their operating rooms and hospital wards, that it is not safe to place their lives in the hands of a man whose life they have throttled.

It is not safe, if he is the sort of man who resents it—and still less safe if he is the sort who doesn’t.”

— Ayn Rand from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Dear friends and fellow travelers,

Thank you for considering donating to our legal defense fund. Trying to promote positive change for women's birth choices against a system controlled or influenced by big business, big government and the trial lawyers of America is going to be a monumental task. I feel so supported in this worthy effort by the letters, facebook comments and personal interactions with many of you.

Whether the battle will be in the meeting rooms of small hospitals or the halls of Congress, it will take more than just the highly motivated supporters of a woman's right to choose to accomplish what we must. The reality is it will take money. In todays world it will take all of us donating lots of money and contacting our families and friends to support the people who will work on our behalf. Funds are needed for my personal legal defense against the hospital's desire to remove the midwifery model of care from their labor floors. For now this is ground zero in stopping the assault on the right of informed consent and refusal. Funds are needed to hire lawyers and promotional firms to help us get the word out to the media. We need support to organize mailers and events. And to really make a difference for women around America we will need to lobby the state and federal governments and this takes capital. Lots of capital! All monies collected will be used to support this noble cause. And all donations will be monitored and dispensed by an independent accounting firm for your security and knowledge.

For as you all know, 1/3 of women in this country are now delivering their babies by c/section. This is an amazing statistic when compared to the rest of the world and has to imply that many women are being deprived of choice and having unnecessary surgery often without their full informed consent.

I have a 12 year old daughter. What will the future hold for her and all the future mothers in our country? The current obstetric environment does not bode well for these women and we have yet to experience the full knowledge of the damage being done by all these surgical births. For our beloved daughters and for the sake of all our future mothers the time to stand down is over.  It is time to stand up, be vocal, take action and donate generously. Please go to the PayPal link and help today.

                Thank you so much,

                               Stuart
